Genesis has already been through more than most dogs ever should, yet she greets the world with nothing but gentleness and love. This 4-year-old Labrador mix was found as a pregnant stray, severely emaciated and struggling to survive. After being taken in by the SPCA of East Texas, Genesis required an emergency C-section to save her and her 16 puppies. Because she was so weak, a dedicated bottle feeder stepped in to care for her babies while Genesis focused on healing. Genesis weighs 47 lbs and is still gaining back the weight she lost, but her spirit has fully blossomed into that of a sweet, affectionate, and eager-to-please companion. She is gentle, loving, and currently working on her basic commands as she learns what it means to be a cherished pet. Genesis is heartworm positive, and her treatment will be provided by the SPCA of East Texas. All she needs now is a family who will stand by her and never let her down again.
