Wade
AvailableWade is a young, neutered male mixed breed with a medium build and brindle and cream short coat. Though not yet house trained, he is up to date on vaccinations. Wade is currently in Elmira, NY and shows all the friendliness and playfulness of a dog who just wants to connect with people. He does best as the only pet in the home and is looking for a committed adopter to help him thrive.
About Wade
Wade has spent months at the shelter, waiting for his person. Picked up as a stray last November, he’s approaching his first birthday and growing up fast. He’s a medium-sized, short-coated brindle and cream mix who lights up when people come around—Wade is at his most joyful outdoors playing with staff and volunteers. With other dogs, though, it’s complicated. He gets along with one playmate, Scotty, but generally doesn’t want to share his space with other dogs or cats. For Wade, a home where he’s the only pet is the right setup. He’s young and still working on mastering house training, but his love of people and his playful energy are unmistakable. Give this goofy, friendly youngster the shot he hasn’t had yet. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Wade
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Wade’s mixed-breed background and medium size make him adaptable, but he seems happiest in a single-pet home where he can be the center of attention. A house with a secure yard would let him burn off energy and enjoy the outdoors.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Medium mixed-breed dogs like Wade appreciate daily outdoor play and exercise. Access to a yard or regular walks would be ideal for him.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Wade’s friendly, playful energy means he could do well with older, respectful children, but given his preference for being the only pet, supervision and introductions are key to harmony.
