About Newton: A Bright
Newton is a handsome 2-year-old Lab/Retriever mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Originally rescued down south, he made his way north and quickly grew into a devoted, affectionate companion who loves being close to his people. At 74 pounds, Newton is a strong and active dog — truly a force to be reckoned with in the best way. He’s bright, engaged, and loves being part of whatever is going on around him. Newton has participated in both group and private training and enjoys outings, trips to stores like Lowe’s, and regular daycare where he socializes with other dogs. He currently resides with an older, female dog, a cat that he gets along with, and has been known to have a blast when introduced to children of all ages. Newton does well with most dogs in social settings but at home, his confident, take-charge personality tends to come through more strongly. Because of that, he would likely be happiest as the only dog in the household, where he doesn’t have to compete for attention or space. He may also do well with a very easygoing, submissive dog who’s comfortable letting Newton take the lead, but overall he’ll thrive in a home that can focus on him and all the love he has to give. A fenced yard where he can play, along with an active household would suit him well. He’s a loyal dog who bonds deeply with his people and is ready to share that big heart with the right family.
