About Tallulah
At just 2-3 years old and 62 pounds, this beautiful spayed pit mix is the perfect combination of strength, sweetness, and snuggles. Tallulah's story is heartbreaking - she was found tied to a tree in the middle of a Texas thunderstorm, left alone in the pouring rain and wind. Somehow, this brave girl dug herself a small hole in the ground just to stay warm until someone finally found her. Despite being abandoned in such a cruel way, her heart is still wide open. For the past four months she has been living at a pet resort, patiently waiting for someone to choose her, and every single day she greets people with hope and love. She is fully up to date on distemper, rabies, and bordatella, and she is EXTREMELY potty trained - she can hold it 12-14 hours in her suite without accidents. Tallulah is wonderful with other dogs, having met small and large dogs as well as intact and spayed/neutered dogs, and she does great with kids of all ages and adults of all sizes. She has not yet met cats. She's been desensitized to hands near her face and food bowl, showing no food aggression, does great for baths, and is working hard on feeling comfortable with nail trims. She walks nicely on a leash with very little pulling and knows basic commands like sit, down, and stay. Tallulah has a fun, energetic side and would love an active home where she can go on adventures, but what she wants more than anything is to belong to someone. She truly believes she's a lap dog and will happily lean all 62 pounds into you just to feel close. After surviving a storm alone and spending months waiting in a kennel, Tallulah deserves a soft bed, steady love, and a forever family who will never let her feel abandoned again. All she wants is someone to love her as much as she's ready to love them! Tallulah is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption
