About Crunch Wrap
Meet Crunch Wrap! Crunch Wrap is a 2-month-old, 6.6lbs male Shiba Inu. Crunch Wrap is a sweet boy who came to us due to having a heart murmur. Crunch Wrap's echocardiogram shows that he has a form of congenital heart disease called a ventricular septal defect (VSD). A VSD is a hole located between the left and right ventricles (lower pumping chambers of the heart). This opening allows blood flow to shunt from the left ventricle into the right ventricle instead of being pumped normally to the body. Crunch Wrap's VSD is small, so only a small amount of blood is shunting to his right ventricle. Overtime this can lead to enlargement of the left heart chambers in some dogs. Crunch Wrap currently has mild to moderate dilation of his left ventricle, but his left atrium (upper left heart chamber) remains normal in size. Periodic monitoring of his heart with an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) will be needed to monitor for further heart enlargement in the future. He will need a repeat echo in 6-9 months. The adoption fee is $500. This includes the spay/neuter, microchip, wellness bloodwork, fecal flotation, deworming and all core vaccines through puppyhood (as long as you return to us for vaccines). If you are interested in adopting Crunch Wrap, please e-mail adoptions@thelovepetproject.org with "Crunch Wrap" in the subject. Please also tell us about yourself and your household.
