About Harkin
Harkin is a stunning 7-month-old mixed-breed puppy with a soft short coat in red and white tones and currently weighs around 30 pounds. She’s sweet-natured and generous with affection—always ready to cuddle or offer a hug. Her gentle, loving side pairs with boundless curiosity and an adventurous streak. Still young, Harkin is picking up new skills quickly and shows an eagerness to please; she responds well to guidance and is making great progress with house training, though she’ll need ongoing support in basic manners and potty habits. Consistency is key for her at this stage. Exercise is essential for Harkin, both physically and mentally. If toys, exploring, and play are what you offer, she’s all in. She enjoys romping with canine friends and appreciates a good bone to chew, and she’s managed nicely on leash walks. She’d do well with someone who can keep her busy and bring her along on outdoor adventures, as she’s not cut out for a sedentary life. Harkin gets along well with both dogs and cats. While she hasn’t spent time with children at the rescue, she’s done well with everyone she’s met and adapts to new situations after an initial period of uncertainty. She does have a tendency to escape standard crates, so a very sturdy kennel is a must, but she adjusts and will sleep overnight in her crate. Harkin is already spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated, and she’s up to date on heartworm and flea prevention. If you’re searching for a bright, outgoing, and affectionate dog to join you in life’s adventures, Harkin might be the one. Click apply to start the adoption process.
