About Franklin
Hi! My name is Franklin and I am available for adoption! I was brought to RASKC on March 2, 2026. When I arrived I appeared injured so I was sent offsite to get some x-rays done. After looking at the x-ray imaging my injury appeared to be old. I may need to be on joint supplements lifelong, but that doesn't stop me from getting around! I am currently in a foster home. My foster says this, I've been calling him Frankie actually. I'd highlight how affectionate he is - loves to be petted and groomed with a wire brush. Also how quickly he adapted to my home and schedule. I'd say despite his old injury and arthritis he goes up and down a steep stairway multiple times a day and leaps onto the sofa, bed and a 32-inch cat tower. Favorite toy is a stuffed catnip log! I cam currently in a foster home so if you would like the chance to meet me please fill out a foster interest form :) Your new pet received a basic physical exam, in addition to routine vaccines, deworming, and topical flea preventative, if indicated. Although your new pet is ready for adoption, there is always a possibility of additional medical conditions that have not been detected or may develop in the future. Current medical conditions are noted below. 1) Limping - this cat was found as a stray and was reported to be limping. On exam, his right knee was swollen and thickened. X-rays were performed which showed a chronic CCL injury with arthritis changes to his knees. Pain medication and a joint supplement have been started. He will likely need long term pain meds and care for this. If he stops using the leg, he may end up needing surgery (amputation) of that leg. Please follow up with your regular vet or a veterinary surgeon for further treatment and management recommendations 2) Dental disease - this cat's canine teeth were found to be fractured and stained. He may benefit from a dental cleaning (under anesthesia) with possible extractions. Please follow up with your regular vet or a veterinary dentist for further treatment and management recommendations. Additional care for these conditions may be needed after adoption. Please follow up with your regular veterinarian.
