She is in a foster home in SAN ANTONIO TEXAS And able to transport once an adopter is matched. Cocoa is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart. She’s a sweet, affectionate girl with a playful side, a gentle personality, and a love for cozy cuddles. While she may be a little shy when meeting new people, once she feels safe, Cocoa blossoms into a loving companion who wants nothing more than to be close to her favorite human. Playful but Polite with Other Dogs Cocoa enjoys playing with other dogs and tends to have a selective, moderate-to-high energy play style. She especially loved playing with her sister, who had slightly higher energy, and she did a great job matching her playmate’s energy. Cocoa is very respectful during play and knows when it’s time to settle down. She has interacted with dogs around her size (about 25 lbs) and has shown wonderful manners—no barking, lunging, or growling. On walks she may occasionally tuck behind her person if another dog or stranger approaches, but she’s gaining confidence every day and continues to improve with positive experiences. Easygoing and Wonderful on Leash Cocoa is an absolute dream on leash. She walks calmly without pulling and is very easy to handle. The most excitement you’ll usually see is when she spots a squirrel and gives it an intense stare! Because of her calm walking style, she’s a great companion for relaxed strolls around the neighborhood. House-Trained and Trustworthy at Home Cocoa is nearly perfectly house-trained. In a full month in foster care, she’s only had one accident—and that happened when she didn’t get outside in time. She quickly takes care of business on walks and understands the routine. She has also proven to be very trustworthy in the home. Cocoa has never needed a crate and does great being left loose in a bedroom while her foster is at work. Aside from a small nibble on a phone charger once, she’s been completely non-destructive—even in a fully decorated room. A Sweet, Gentle Personality Cocoa is playful, affectionate, and smart with wonderfully adaptable energy. If you’re ready to play, she’ll happily zoom around with you. If you’re ready to relax, she’s more than happy to curl up for cuddles and a nap. Once she settles in, Cocoa becomes a true cuddle bug. One of her favorite places to sleep is right next to her person’s pillow, and she loves gentle belly rubs and giving sweet little kisses to your hands. Adorable Cocoa Quirks Cocoa has a few charming habits that make her extra special: She loves rope toys and durable chew toys. She enjoys collecting socks—not to chew, just to keep as treasures! She’s a professional snuggler and prefers sleeping close to her person. She rides quietly in the back seat during car rides. After a short learning period, she now runs up and down stairs like a pro. Great with Families Cocoa has been around an infant and did wonderfully—she was simply shy but very gentle. She would likely do well with children who give her a little time to warm up. She has not yet been tested with cats. Her Ideal Home Cocoa is incredibly adaptable and could thrive in many types of homes—an active family, a relaxed household, or even a single person looking for a loyal companion. She could do well as an only dog, but she might especially enjoy having another friendly dog around since she grew up with siblings. Her main area for growth is building confidence with new people and unfamiliar situations. With patience, kindness, and continued positive experiences, Cocoa continues to come out of her shell more each day. Why You’ll Love Cocoa Cocoa is the perfect blend of playful and peaceful—a low-maintenance pup who enjoys fun but truly shines as a loving companion. If you’re looking for a sweet dog who will curl up beside you, follow you around the house, and fill your days with quiet affection, Cocoa may be the perfect match. Her future family will be lucky to have such a gentle, loving little soul. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
