About Nydia
Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! This lovely approximately 3-year-old Rottweiler mix is searching for a calm, loving home where she can finally feel safe and secure. She’s a gentle, sensitive soul—about 72 lbs—who might appear a little shy at first, especially when confronted with loud noises or sudden movements, but with a bit of patience, her true, affectionate nature quickly becomes evident. In a relaxed environment, she enjoys exploring and will happily come over for gentle affection and attention. She’s wonderful on a leash and friendly with people, lighting up when she receives gentle attention. She’s always eager to be near her person, and when she meets other dogs (particularly at a distance), she gets adorably wiggly and excited. While the shelter environment can make her nervous, she looks to her people for reassurance, and it’s clear she will forge a devoted bond with her adopter. One of her most endearing quirks is carrying her favorite stuffed duck for comfort—a habit that will melt your heart. She can sometimes be head-shy or startled by quick movements, and she’s still gaining confidence. With other dogs, she may occasionally feel protective over her favorite toy, so thoughtful introductions and mindful management are important. Her ideal home is quiet and patient, allowing her to blossom into the loving, loyal companion she’s destined to be. What she needs most isn’t perfection—just someone who will go slow, offer reassurance, and embrace her gentle, loving heart. If you’re seeking a devoted companion with a truly sweet disposition, she could be your perfect match. She will be transported to Elgin on April 4, 2026—apply to meet her and discover if you’re the safe haven she’s been waiting for. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
