Gordo is a male dog who presented bright, alert, and responsive (BAR) with marked lameness of the right hind limb. Diagnostic radiographs were obtained and revealed a fractured right tibia. This orthopedic injury is painful and requires specialized surgical repair to ensure proper healing and restore function. This level of care and recovery support exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite his injury, Gordo remains gentle and is doing his best while receiving supportive care. Gordo needs a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive surgical evaluation, treatment, and appropriate recovery care to restore comfort and mobility. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter.
