Meet Velma Velma and her almost identical twin sister Daphne are the two newest little additions to the kitten room. They are brown tabbies and we have FINALLY found a way to tell them apart: Daphne has two distinct stripes on her face while Velma only has one. Just like their namesakes in Scooby Doo, these girls are smart, funny, and full of adventure. They love to play and snuggle with the other kitties in the room, but as soon as they see a willing lap, they are all in. Even if they have to lay on top of another kitty to get close to their human. Anyone who adopts one or both of these amazing girls is in for an adventure. They are only about 3 1/2 months now (DOB estimated at 11/30/2025) so are available for our foster to adopt program where they can be fostered until they are old enough to be spayed. Velma (and Daphne) would probably do best going home with another kitty in the home, but a devoted human companion will suit her just fine. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
