Much like the musician with the same name, our Jelly Roll swung for the fences with his transformation. Hardly seems like the same dog, but it is. Jelly Roll was found wandering the streets - just a year old, covered with mats and neglected for quite some time. We have found that some dogs who have been abused the most, love the fiercest. And that is Jelly Roll. He sits so politely as he waits for you to notice him. And, when you do, he gets so excited. When you get close enough to him, he has this way of wrapping his front legs around you - and holding on. If you are sitting next to him, he gets right next to you and then links his front legs together around your arm. He doesn't want to be left behind yet again. Despite a shaky start in life, Jelly Roll is happy. He loves to run around and play with toys. He adores watching the other small dogs in his section. And he was enthralled when he got to play with two of them. Jelly Roll is free now - free from the hair and neglect that marked a good part of his first year. And he is ready - ready to live a life that is based on love and care, loyalty and nurturing.
