About Firulias

Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Firulias #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Firulais | 2–3 Year Old Chihuahua Mix | Spunky Little Snugglebug Firulais - affectionately called “Frito Lay” by his foster mom - is a 20-pound tan Chihuahua mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for his people. This confident, cuddly guy was found as a stray and has quickly proven himself to be an easy, affectionate companion. He loves burrowing under the covers, showing off his belly for rubs, and riding along in a backpack like your tiny sidekick. He’s almost fully house trained and does best on a consistent routine - especially being taken out shortly after meals. He’s great in his kennel, can be left alone for 4–6 hours, and settles in easily with a treat toy (though he may give a dramatic little bark if he hears something). He has a medium energy level, enjoys walks, toys, and fetch, and can pull slightly on leash. Firulais does well with other dogs, especially off leash, and may be okay with dog-savvy cats. He loves all people and thrives on attention, though he can be a little jumpy when excited. He responds well to structure and is eager to please. Firulais is currently heartworm positive, which is not contagious, and his treatment will be fully covered by Animal Rescue of the Rockies. During treatment, he’ll need to stick to short, calm walks and a low-activity lifestyle. Once complete, he’s expected to live a normal, happy life. If you’re looking for a fun, snuggly companion with a quirky, lovable personality, Firulais is your guy. Click here to see more photos and videos of Firulais! If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2.
