Hi, I’m Mars... and if you have a soft spot for underdogs, I think we might be meant to find each other. I’m almost five years old now, weighing in at a sturdy 90lbs, I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on my heartworm testing. My life didn’t start as it should have. As a puppy, I was kept outside and used for breeding, without the love, comfort, or care every dog deserves. But kind humans didn’t give up on me - they found me a place to start fresh. At the shelter - I blossomed! With patience, good food, and gentle care, I started to heal—inside and out. I gained weight and strength, and I learned that good people do exist, and that life has a happy side. I was adopted about a year ago from the shelter - and I thought my furever had arrived. I finally had a home. I had a three-year-old boy, and I absolutely adored him. I was gentle, loving, and so happy to finally belong. But sometimes life takes unexpected turns, and my family fell on hard times. They made the heartbreaking decision to bring me back to the shelter—not because of anything I did, but because they wanted me to have the life I deserve. So here I am again… still full of love, still hoping, still believing my forever is out there. What should you know about me? I love kids, I’m wonderful with other dogs, and I light up when I’m around people. I just want to be close to you—to be your shadow, your cuddle buddy, your loyal best friend. I should mention: I’m leash trained, housetrained and crate trained, so I’m ready to settle into a real home again. The only thing I ask is no cats, please—they’re just not my thing. All I’ve ever really wanted is a safe place to land and someone who won’t give up on me. I promise, if you choose me, I’ll spend every single day showing you how much that means.
