Meet Mae — an 8-month-old, 35 lb sweetheart who is ready to find her forever home. Gentle, playful, and full of love, Mae is a bright and affectionate young pup who enjoys being part of everyday life. Whether she’s exploring her surroundings, playing with her dog friends, or settling in for some quiet cuddle time, Mae has a soft, loving presence that makes her incredibly special. She may be a little more on the sensitive side at first, but once she feels safe, her sweet personality truly shines. Mae and her siblings were born in a parking garage on July 17, 2025, to their devoted mama, Shiva, who did everything she could to keep them safe. Unfortunately, the landlord did not allow pets and wanted the dogs gone. Thankfully, our amazing partners at SOS el Arca Animal Rescue stepped in and saved the whole family. Mae comes from a truly special little family. Her mom, Shiva, and her brother Pluto have already been adopted in New York and are doing great, and her sister Pam has a pending adoption. All of her siblings share the same gentle, loving nature—once they feel safe, they really open up, showing how affectionate, playful, and happy they are. Her siblings in New York are thriving, enjoying their new lives, going on adventures, and being wonderful companions. Mae does well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion, but she would also be happy as your one-and-only with plenty of love and attention. With a little patience and encouragement, she builds trust and forms deep, meaningful bonds. She is eager to learn and would thrive in a home that offers guidance, kindness, and consistency as she continues to grow. Mae is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. We would love to bring Mae to New York on our next transport in April, but she can only make the journey if we have a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt home waiting for her. After everything she’s been through, we want her next step to be filled with stability, love, and security.
