About Lightning
Lightening came into rescue during the same time as Rain-on a cold, stormy spring night filled with pouring rain. It was clear he had had enough of life outside... because the moment the trap was set, he walked right in like he was ready for a fresh start-and he hasn't looked back since. Like many of our kitties, Lightening was also thrown out and left to fend for himself. He was understandably scared and unsure of people at first. But the second he landed in his foster's bathroom, everything changed-he melted almost instantly and showed us who he truly is. And who he is... is amazing. Lightening is vocal, affectionate, and full of personality. He loves giving headbutts and will even stand up on his hind legs just to reach your hand for more pets. If you stop petting him, don't worry-he'll politely (and adorably) ask for more. He's a big fan of wet food, enjoys playtime, and most of all, wants to be close to his people. Snuggles, attention, and love are his favorite things, and he gives it right back tenfold. Lightening is the kind of cat who will fill your home with warmth, companionship, and constant affection. After everything he's been through, he's more than ready for a forever home where he'll never feel abandoned again. He is healing from a neck and face wound but they are healing beautifully! he needs a little time to be his full beautiful self. His adoption fee is $100 All cats adopted through our rescue are age appropriately vaccinated including rabies & FVRCP/Feline Leukemia vaccines, dewormed & free of fleas, combo tested (negative unless otherwise noted), microchipped and spayed/neutered before adoptions are finalized. If you would like to adopt, please fill out the application through the link or the website at -www.whiskersofohio.org - please note that the "I'm interested" tab on Petfinder does NOT act as an application, this should only be used for specific questions before committing to an adoption. You will receive an email confirmation when your application goes through. We make no breed guarantees; we are a rescue, not a breeder. Please only apply for a specific kitten if you are committed to adopting! Our workers are all volunteers and it takes time to process applications. We are a registered, volunteer run 501c3 non-profit organization. Free transport is regularly available to Wayne/Holmes County areas! We do have the ability to fly a cat or pair of kittens via Southwest's SWATT program to any location served by Southwest Airlines. It isn't free but has been a great way to transport animals in a timely manner.
