Rufus was rescued from a kill shelter in Bartow County, Georgia and is currently safe with a wonderful foster in Georgia. He’ll soon be making his way north to New Jersey in search of his forever family. Rufus is an adult male with a calm, gentle nature and wonderful manners. He’s housetrained, crate trained, and incredibly easy to please—truly the kind of dog who just wants to make his people happy. He’s quiet, affectionate, and loves being petted, often choosing to relax in whatever room his humans are in. He gets along well with other dogs and enjoys spending time outside with them, though he’s usually the first one ready to come back in and settle down. Rufus has a lower-key personality and would be a perfect fit for someone looking for a sweet, easygoing companion. Thunder can make him a little uneasy, but he handles it well overall. He eats great and shows no signs of food aggression. Rufus will need a foster home when he arrives in New Jersey—but even better, he’s ready to find a forever family to call his own. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and fully vetted prior to adoption. Rufus got his second chance… now he just needs his family.
