Hi there! My name is Boomer, and I am a German Shepherd with a little Husky mixed in. I earned my name because of my big feet, my large size, and the way I boom through the house with endless energy. My enthusiastic “woo-woo” songs at mealtime probably helped seal the deal too. Speaking of size, I am currently the heavyweight champ of my litter. At the beginning of March, when I was neutered and microchipped, I weighed in at an impressive 76 pounds. I was a very good boy and took all my medicine as long as it was hidden in wet food. I did end up having to wear the dreaded cone of shame for a bit because I liked my incision a little too much. Did I mention that I have lots of energy? I love chasing a ball, especially when my foster dad throws it. Sometimes I chase the ball and sometimes I chase my foster dad instead. Both options are equally fun. I also like to “borrow” bones, sticks, and toys from my sisters so we can play tug-of-war or roughhouse around the yard. My auntie, who happens to be a Great Dane, is one of my favorite playmates. There is an outdoor cat where I live now who keeps her distance. Most of the time I do not pay much attention to her because I would rather be exploring or looking for something fun to do. When playtime is over, my favorite thing is getting chest and ear rubs from my foster parents. I will happily climb right into your lap for some attention, even though I am a pretty big boy. I have also been good with the foster grandkids, who are 4 and 8 years old. Because of my size and excitement, I might do best in a home with slightly older kids who can keep up with my playful personality. I am house trained and use a doggy door. I am not crate trained yet, but my foster family is working with me on leash training and meeting new people. I can be a little cautious at first, but with patience, encouragement, and a few treats, I warm up quickly. My foster family even had DNA tests done on my parents. My mom is 100% German Shepherd, and my dad is 81% German Shepherd and 19% Husky, which explains my handsome looks. I was born on July 21, 2025 at 1:05 AM. I am neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventions. Now I just need a forever family to share all my energy, love, and goofy personality with.
