Meet Dutchess — your future adventure buddy and professional heart-melter. At just 2–3 years old and 42 lbs, Dutchess is the perfect mix of affectionate cuddlebug and energetic sidekick. She’s a quieter husky, but don’t let that fool you—this girl is ready to hit the trails or cruise the Minneapolis lakes with you as your ultimate running partner. After a good workout, she’s all about leaning in for pets and soaking up love. Dutchess is currently living her best foster life in South Minneapolis, where she’s become a bit of a local celebrity at One on One Bike Shop. She spends her days gently greeting customers, offering soft nuzzles, and charming just about everyone who walks through the door. We’re still getting to know her and let her decompress so we’re not 💯 yet on her level of friendliness with other dogs. She seems to do fine leashed around them in calm environments but we are definitely recommending slow, respectful introductions. On leash, she’s still learning that not every dog needs a big announcement—so her foster is helping her build calm, confident manners. She doesn’t show much interest in cats, and she’d do well in a home with older children who can match her energy and respect her space. Dutchess was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Lancaster, CA just a few weeks ago, and she’s already showing how resilient and loving she is. She came in with some scabbing on her nose, but with vet care and a course of prednisone, it’s healing nicely and improving every day.
