About Hansen
Your new best friend is just one click away. Hansen is a lively and energetic German Shepherd Dog who is always excited to greet new friends! He's incredibly smart, eager to please, and quick to learn, especially when treats are involved. During playtime, Hansen showed off his handler-focused nature and was happily responsive to training cues—he quickly understood that rewards come when all four paws are on the ground. Hansen gets along well with other dogs, showing curiosity but never reacting intensely, even when others barked at him. Although he's higher energy and currently shows some restless jumping, with the right amount of exercise and mental stimulation in a home environment, this behavior should easily be redirected. He loves to be around his people, often following you to ask for head scratches, and while he may not be the cuddliest, he offers unwavering loyalty and companionship. Remember, dogs—especially higher energy breeds like Hansen—need time to decompress after leaving the shelter and should be given slow, proper introductions to ensure a smooth transition.
