She is a 7-year-old German Shepherd who has been in the shelter since January 16, 2026 and is currently on kennel rest due to an injury. She is housebroken, crate trained and walks well on a leash, making her an easy addition to most homes. German Shepherds are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and eagerness to please, and Kaya is no exception—she thrives on companionship and gentle guidance. Due to her medical needs and extended length of stay, we are urgently seeking a permanent or foster home where Kaya can recover in comfort. She will need a calm, quiet environment to help her heal, and her foster or permanent home should be able to support her limited activity while she’s on kennel rest. Kaya’s gentle nature and training make her a wonderful companion for anyone looking to help a deserving dog on her road to recovery.
