About Zack
Meet Zack, a thoughtful soul with a penchant for independence. In the bustling world of the shelter, Zack maintains a quiet demeanor, often found in a cozy corner, observing the daily goings-on with gentle interest. Despite his shyness, Zack has a lot to offer. He's the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a calm, low-maintenance friend. Due to capacity at the shelter, this pet is currently at risk for euthanasia. We are urgently seeking placement through adoption, foster, or approved rescue. If you are interested in adopting, fostering or rescuing this dog, email dasadopt@dallas.gov When emailing, please leave a callback number. Zack is a dog who presented with a severe injury to the middle phalanx, which is currently open and concerning for significant underlying pathology. Medical assessment indicates possible neoplasia, osteomyelitis (bone infection), or callus formation from a previous fracture. Open bone injuries and infections of this nature are painful and require advanced diagnostics, potential surgical intervention, and ongoing medical management to properly treat and prevent further complications. This level of specialized care and follow-up exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite his condition, Zack remains gentle and is doing his best while receiving supportive care. Zack needs a safe, compassionate placement where he can receive the advanced veterinary evaluation, treatment, and recovery support necessary to improve comfort and quality of life. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter. If you are interested in helping, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov with your contact information so we can call you back.
