About Zuzu
Meet Zuzu — a large and in-charge tuxedo gentleman with a heart as soft as his fluffy coat. At 3 years old, this medium-haired charmer has perfected the art of communication: sometimes he’ll greet you with a bold, “BIG BOY HAS ARRIVED” announcement, and other times he’ll melt you with the tiniest, sweetest little meow. Either way, Zuzu believes his presence should be acknowledged... and honestly, he’s right. By day, Zuzu is a professional lounger and nap enthusiast. Sunbeams? Claimed. Cozy spots? Occupied. Productivity? Optional. But when nighttime rolls around, he transforms into a full-time cuddle specialist. Zuzu doesn’t just like affection—he requires it. Preferably while touching you at all times: between your legs, across your chest, or gently glued to your side. Bonus features include loud purring and the occasional happy drool. Zuzu is a sensitive soul who’s been through a change—he once had a home, and now he’s looking for his forever one. Because of that, he prefers affection on his terms (no picking up, please—he’s more of a “sit next to me and adore me” kind of guy). He’d thrive in a calm home with a mellow, friendly kitty companion and would be over the moon for a catio where he can safely supervise the outdoors like the dignified gentleman he is. If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly dramatic, deeply affectionate best friend with a big voice, a soft heart, and a commitment to nightly snuggles, Zuzu is ready to move in and take over your heart (and your personal space). Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes that every pet should find a wonderful, caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives! $350 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes. These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $225 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes. These 'guardian cats' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $225 for kittens (6 months & under) $150 for cats (older than 6 months) $100 for senior cats (8 years or older) If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email cats@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
