Meet Dalia – A Tiny Survivor with a Big Heart Dalia’s story is nothing short of a miracle. This tiny little Chihuahua was found on the side of the road in Mexico, clinging to life. At just four pounds, she was frail, starving, anemic, and suffering from painful dermatitis. It’s hard to imagine how such a delicate little soul managed to survive on the streets for as long as she did — but Dalia had a spark in her that refused to give up. After being rescued, she was carefully nursed back to health and eventually made her journey to The Misfit Ranch, where her new life truly began. Today, Dalia is thriving in one of our most loving foster homes, where she receives endless cuddles and the gentle care she deserves. Dalia can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, her sweet personality blossoms. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her tiny body. Once she trusts you, she becomes the ultimate lap dog, happiest when she’s snuggled up close — especially if she can burrow under the covers. Now a healthy six pounds, most of her soft fur has grown back, and her adorable floppy ears give her the most irresistible expression. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and respectful children. Because of her very small size, Dalia would do best in a home with mature children who understand how to handle a tiny dog gently. At about 1½ years old, Dalia is ready to leave her painful past behind and find the loving forever family she deserves.
