Emmet is a 7-year-old gentle and affectionate cat looking for his forever home. Head scratches are this sweet boy's absolute favorite thing in the world. He enjoys them so much that he sometimes seems to get completely lost in the moment. He is the kind of cat who does not need to be the center of attention all the time and is simply happy being close to the people he trusts. He will quietly keep you company and bring a warm, comforting presence to your home. Emmet has a relaxed energy level. He loves a good nap but still enjoys playtime, brushing sessions, and lounging near his favorite person. He is content to spend his day moving between cozy rest and gentle interaction. He has lived with another cat before and is currently in a foster home with both a resident cat and a dog, though introductions are still in progress. With slow and thoughtful introductions, he may do well with other animal companions. Right now, he has his own room and has settled in comfortably. His ideal home is calm and loving, where he can relax, play, and receive plenty of the head scratches he adores. When he lounges belly up, it is his way of showing that he feels safe and at ease. Emmet previously had Perineal Urethrostomy (PU) surgery, so he eats a prescription wet food diet to support his urinary health. He happily eats his wet food and doesn't seem to miss dry food at all. Emmet is very gentle when being held, though he often prefers to curl up in your lap or sit beside you. He is also happy to be picked up, especially if it means getting a better view out a window.
