Dude may take a bit of time to adjust to a new routine, so his ideal family should be patient, supportive, and gentle in how they approach this new friendship, and allow Dude some time to warm up to new people. Our volunteers have told us that he can be a bit shy and hesitant initially, but once he's outside, he walks well, sitting politely for treats.
