Toadette is a female kitten who was diagnosed with bilateral eyelid agenesis, a congenital condition where portions of the eyelids did not develop normally. This has led to significant irritation of the eyes and keratitis, causing ongoing discomfort and risk of further damage to the eyes. Due to the severity of her condition, bilateral enucleation (surgical removal of both eyes) is recommended to alleviate pain and prevent continued irritation and complications. Toadette will require prompt surgical intervention and a verified veterinary appointment for follow-up care, which exceeds what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite these challenges, Toadette remains gentle and is doing her best while receiving supportive care. Toadette needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive the surgical treatment and recovery care necessary to improve her comfort and quality of life. This pet is at risk for euthanasia due to the level of medical care required, which exceeds what we can provide in the shelter.
