Cupid is a handsome 4 month old, male, mixed breed. He has a beautiful black coat with white accents! One of Cupid’s littermates had a Wisdom Panel DNA test done, which showed the top breeds as Miniature American Shepherd and Pembroke Welsh Corgi, along with small percentages of several other breeds. Wisdom Panel lists “Miniature American Shepherd,” which is essentially what many people know as a Miniature Australian Shepherd (Mini Aussie). Since Petfinder doesn’t distinguish that breed separately, Cupid is listed as an Australian Shepherd mix. With this herding breed background, it’s no surprise he’s a smart, attentive pup who enjoys being around his people. Cupid and his littermates were discovered by a good samaritan when they were just a few weeks old. Their mom, Lilly, had been sneaking to a nearby home to eat the food that family left out for stray cats. They followed Lilly to her litter in the woods and contacted our rescue partner in Texas for help. Cupid and his family were lucky that day! He has now grown up in a loving foster home, and is so excited to find his forever family in the midwest. He loves people of all ages and loves playing with other dogs. He is working hard on potty training, however his new family should be prepared to do additional training while he learns the routine at his new home in WI as he is just a young puppy. He is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with his medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies him to be in good condition. His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee.
