About Dexter
Dexter is not your typical go-everywhere dog, but he excels at being a heartfelt homebody. At 3½ years old and around 50 pounds, this easy-going, sweet Pit Bull Terrier mix truly thrives when close to his people. Dexter is friendly, playful, and happiest lounging at home or cuddled up with his humans. He’s housebroken, crate trained, handles solo time just fine, and genuinely loves his crate — he doesn’t even need it for security anymore. He’s great with kids and gets along with other dogs, especially older, calm females, but he needs a cat-free household. Dexter already knows quite a few commands, including Sit, Sit Pretty, Stay, and Spin (which he’ll do for a paw wipe). He responds to hand signals, loves a good chew toy, and prefers sleeping curled up in bed with the people he loves most. If you want a loyal shadow who’s more into backyard time than leash walks or car rides, he’s your match. Walks and outings stress him, so a home with a fenced yard and no regular outings is ideal. For anyone wanting a loving, low-key companion who brings comfort and calm, Dexter is the real deal. Fun fact: with a birthday of July 14, Dexter is a Cancer — known for their affection and strong bonds. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
