My name is Donner, and I’m a three-year-old Australian Cattle Dog with a smart mind and lots of energy. My life didn’t start out very easy — I was found starving at a boat dock until a kind Good Samaritan helped me get to a rescue. Thanks to that kindness, I’m now healthy, cared for, and ready to start a new chapter with a family of my own. As a cattle dog, I’m a naturally active and intelligent boy who enjoys staying busy. I would do best with a family that understands working breeds and enjoys an active lifestyle. Adventures, outdoor time, learning new things, and having a job to do would make me very happy. I’m crate trained and actually enjoy my crate — it’s my comfortable place for naps and quiet time. After a day of activity, I’m also happy to relax on the couch. I’m currently working on potty training. Since I likely lived outdoors much of my life, I’m still learning the rules of indoor living and doing my best to get the hang of it. There are a few things my future family should know. Cats are not a good match for me because I like to chase them. I can also be selective with other dogs and do best with proper introductions, especially with male dogs. Because I’m energetic and a little intense at times, I would likely do best in a home without small children.
