Sylvie is a very affectionate human-loving kitty. She is quite friendly and social and will make a great little companion. Sylvie is rapidly becoming an official lap cat, sitting in her foster Mom’s lap giving headbutts and kisses. Even though Sylvie is a very sweet girl, she is also a little imp and can be quite entertaining. If she is up on her cat tree perch and you walk by and give her no attention, she will reach out and gently paw your arm. If you go back to pet her, she will sometimes jump down and run like she’s never seen you before. You are supposed to go after her so she can run from you and act silly. If you don’t have time for the wand toy, she will play by herself throwing her little mice and balls into the air and catching them. The other thing she likes to do is slide on throw rugs. If you have them, your job as her human, is to keep them straightened out so she can slide and glide at her leisure. It is one of her favorite things to do. It makes her so happy - you can see it in her face! Sylvie was rescued off the streets with 3 kittens in tow. She was a GREAT Mama so it is not surprising the kittens survived. If you would like to adopt two kitties, Sylvie has one kitten that has not yet been adopted who can be adopted with her. His name is Winston (black and white kitten in one of the photos). There is also a second kitten that Mama Sylvie took in, a little white girl named Sophie (white kitten shown in one of the photos). Sylvie will do best in a mature home or one with older, cat-savvy children (8+). She has been around a number of other foster kitties, and it has been determined that she can go into a home with another kitty IF that cat is a cat-loving kitty – an alpha cat will not work. She is very unsure of dogs – probably because she had bad experiences outside so this should be discussed with her foster mom/adoption counselor. Sylvie was born approximately April 1, 2024, and her adoption fee is $105, or adopt two and the second is one-half price. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, has a microchip, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend.
