About Leka
Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Leka, the Albanian prince! Super sweet Leka found his way to Freedom Ride after escaping a difficult start in life. Thanks to caring locals, he left behind his dark past and now embraces the happy life he deserves. Leka is settling into his new world with enthusiasm and a signature smile. He's thought to be a Chihuahua and Beagle mix, around five years old and weighing about thirteen pounds. Leka’s resilience shines—despite past challenges, he adores people, especially women, and quickly bonded with his female foster. He’s a bit cautious with men, but thoughtful and gentle introductions have helped him feel safe. Leka does great with his two canine housemates—one large and energetic, the other a small senior—and lives alongside a cat, though his playful interest is more enthusiastic than aggressive. Currently mastering his potty-training skills, Leka is nearly there! He feels secure in his crate when alone, though his tendency to vocalize means he’d be happiest in a home rather than an apartment. He delights in squeaky toys and enjoys walks through his neighborhood on leash. Leka is ready to embrace family life and hopes you’ll be the one to complete his American dream. By the way, with a birthday on June 3rd, he’s a playful Gemini—always bringing a little extra joy and curiosity into every moment. This could be the start of something paw-some.
