About Eileen
Eileen is a gentle soul who came into the rescue as a stray after what looks like a rough patch in life. At some point, she suffered a broken back leg. It has healed on its own—although not perfectly. Fortunately, this doesn’t slow her down much. Eileen still gets around just fine, but she would thrive most in a calm, slower-paced home. She tends to be shy and needs some patience and understanding to help her settle in. A securely fenced yard would make her feel safe as she builds up her confidence. Eileen will do best with people who move at her pace and can give her time to come out of her shell. She gets along with other dogs, making her a good candidate for a multi-dog household if introductions are handled gently. After all she’s been through, Eileen deserves a quiet, loving home where she can finally relax. Ready to help her start her next chapter? What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Eileen
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Eileen, being a mix of Patterdale Terrier / Fell Terrier and Beagle, generally does best in a home with a secure yard and a calm environment, especially given his shy nature and healed leg injury. He'll appreciate a quieter home where he can relax and gain confidence.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
With his terrier and beagle background, Eileen will enjoy a yard to explore, but a securely fenced area is important for his safety. A medium space to roam in a calm neighborhood would suit him well.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Patterdale Terriers and Beagles can get along with kids, but Eileen’s shyness and need for a gentle atmosphere mean he’s better suited for a home with older children who understand how to be calm and respectful.
