Dax is a 5 year old chocolate Labrador who proves every day that happiness doesn't require a lot of brainpower. He's cheerful, lovable, and proudly operating with roughly the same number of brain cells as a Tic Tac, and he's perfectly content with that. What he may lack in genius, he more than makes up for in heart. Dax's favorite hobby is being wherever you are. Sitting? He's there. Walking? He's ready. Going to the kitchen for the 14th time? Don't worry, Dax will supervise. He's extremely social and believes every human is a potential best friend who simply hasn't met him yet. On walks, Dax shines. He walks beautifully on a leash and is happy to cruise alongside his person, taking in the world one sniff at a time. True to the Labrador spirit, he's deeply loyal and bonds strongly with his people. If you're looking for a brilliant strategist or a dog who can do your taxes, Dax is not your guy. But if you want a joyful, affectionate shadow who will stick by your side through everything, Dax is absolutely perfect. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.
