About Dorothy
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: Caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Dorothy! Dorothy is a 12-year-young Shih Tzu mix weighing just 8.5 pounds of pure spunky adorableness. And trust us - you would never guess she's a senior. This girl has personality for days! Dorothy is potty trained, sleeps through the night like a professional on her dog bed beside the bed, and gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and kids. She's also happy to use other dogs as personal heaters if they're willing. Dorothy is a professional couch jumper and firmly believes her rightful place in life is on the couch - preferably wrapped in a cozy crocheted blanket like the tiny queen she is. Because her eyes are a little cloudy, Dorothy sometimes has trouble judging distances in the dark, so it's safest for her not to sleep on the bed (even when she gives those very convincing puppy eyes). When meeting new people or being picked up, Dorothy can be a little nervous at first. She may shake and look scared, but she isn't mean at all - just unsure. With a little sweet talking and a couple of tasty treats, she warms up quickly and becomes everyone's best friend. Dorothy already knows sit and paw, and it's very clear that at some point in her life she was someone's very loved little companion. She does need some dental work scheduled for 3/19, and after that she'll be feeling even better. Trust us - this girl is an absolute catch. Anyone lucky enough to adopt Dorothy will be getting a tiny best friend with a huge heart. Dorothy is spayed, she is up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $300.00. ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
