Gertie is a very sweet girl who loves being close to her people. She greets her friends with a wagging tail and will gladly roll over for belly rubs whenever the opportunity arises. Gertie truly enjoys companionship and likes being near the people she trusts. She is still learning the ropes of life outside the home and is working on building confidence during walks. New environments can make her a little anxious, but she's trying her best and will benefit from a patient adopter who can continue helping her feel comfortable and secure as she learns. Gertie can be protective of her favorite things, like her bed or food, so she will do best with an experienced and understanding adopter who can continue guiding her and helping her develop good habits. Because of this, she should live in a home without small children. With patience, kindness, and continued guidance, Gertie has all the makings of a loyal and loving companion.
