Boxer Lover Alert! Looking to give an older Boxer the loving, stable and happy life she deserves for her golden years? Well, we may be biased but we think this girl deserves it most! Tootsie has had a long road to get to us. She had the same owner from puppyhood until 2023, when she tragically lost her owner. Tootsie was found alone in the home with her deceased human after she broke a window to get out to find help. Just...wow. Unfortunately, since then, Tootsie has been passed around and was most recently living with a homeless individual in less than ideal health. Luckily, a very kind couple took Tootsie in to get her into a more stable situation but knew they couldn't keep her long term. When they reached out to us and we heard Tootsie's story, we knew she needed a safe place to land until the perfect, FOREVER home found her. Tootsie is 8.5 years old and a petite girl at around 45lbs. She is still gaining needed weight to reach her ideal size, closer to 50lbs. Even as an older girl, she still has so much spunk and love to share! And that giant Boxer smile can't be beat! She is your typical loyal to a fault Boxer and her humans are her WORLD. She would be perfectly content spending every waking moment following her people around or cuddling on the couch. She does love her occasional zoomies in the yard and putting that Boxer wiggle butt to work when she's excited, but really she's just an older gal looking for a mellow home. Tootsie loves humans of all ages and is gentle and loving with even young children. She does well with cats and currently shares her foster home with several other dogs. While Tootsie has done well with most dogs, we've learned she would prefer a home with either no other dogs or mellow, calmer dogs who will let Tootsie take the lead as queen bee. At 8.5 years old, we want her to find the throne to sit on that she's long deserved! Tootsie is potty trained and crate trained. She can have some initial nervousness in a crate but once she's used to the routine and knows her human is coming back, she settles in quickly. We can't blame her for the uncertainty; she's had a lot of that in the last several years of her life. She bonds tightly to her people and will be your Boxer shadow wherever you may go! Tootsie is an incredibly loving and dedicated girl and we know her people are out there looking for her. Tootsie's adoption fee includes her spay, microchip, vaccines, heartworm/tick borne illness testing, senior bloodwork, dewormings and flea/tick/heartworm prevention.
