Meet Maverick - A Dog Who Deserves His Forever Home Maverick's story is one of quiet resilience. When he first came into our program, he was lost, likely abandoned, and absolutely terrified of people. He had no trust in humans, and when local authorities finally caught him, there were real doubts about whether he could ever recover emotionally. But when we got the call about Maverick, we knew we had to try. Since arriving in our program in November 2025, Maverick has been living in one of our dedicated foster rehabilitation homes. His foster dad has done a wonderful job helping him learn that humans can be kind and trustworthy. Slowly, this beautiful Lab/Great Pyrenees mix has started to come out of his shell. Maverick's mixed genetics mean he has a unique personality - part Labrador, craving connection, and part Pyrenees, appreciating independence. He loves the outdoors, taking walks, and riding in the pickup. He truly shines when he's around other dogs who can help him feel confident and safe. Maverick is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready for his forever home. He'll do best in a calm environment with other dogs (and even cats), but no small children. His perfect family will be patient and understanding, giving him the time and space he needs to build trust.
