Who's the most handsome, most enthusiastic and most loyal dog at the shelter right now? Well, volunteers voted that it's ME! Hi, I'm Gunner, and I’m five years old. I've got the biggest heart and boundless energy to keep us active and seeking adventures for a lifetime! I love snuggles and playtime almost equally. I'm built for fun they say. I enjoy belly rubs, car rides, and long walks exploring the neighborhood. I'm most at peace when trying to pretend that I'm a big ole lap dog. I love to spend every moment I can in the company of my people. I was surrendered to the shelter when my family decided they no longer had enough quality time to give me. They had kids, and life just got too busy to give me the time I deserved. I grew up with small children and was always gentle with them, but I’ll admit I sometimes forget just how big I am. Every now and then I can tumble a toddler in my excitement, so I need to meet all the kids in the home to make sure we’re a good match. I never mean to cause trouble; I just have a lot of love and enthusiasm to share. I’m happiest when I’m moving. I'm strong, and running, hiking, wrestling with another dog who can keep up with me, or chasing a ball across the yard are some of my favorite things. I’m still working on the whole "bring the ball back" part, but I make up for it with charm. When the adventure winds down, I settle beautifully and turn into a first-class snuggler. Curling up with my people after a long day is one of life’s great joys. It's been said about me that I’m kennel trained and housetrained, which makes settling into a new home much easier. I even slept in bed with my humans. I’m also the kind of dog who’s up for anything. Car rides, trail walks, lazy afternoons on the couch binge-watching your latest show—I’m all in.
