About Smokie
Smokie came to Good Mews from the Jasper County Humane Society for a better chance of finding a forever home. He went into foster care and has really shown his purrsonality. Smokie is a huge love bug. He will wind himself around your legs and follow you from room to room. You’ll have to exercise great care not to step on him because he has a knack of being exactly in the spot where your foot would normally go when you walk. He doesn’t love to be held but will tolerate it. He craves pets and cuddles, but his favorite activity is playing, especially with wand toys because it involves his human. He’ll also play by himself with balls, interactive toys and mice (the inanimate kind). Watching birds and squirrels is also high on the list in the way of pastimes. Smokie is extremely sociable and the foster Mom thinks it would be good if he had a furry friend. He may also take to a laid-back dog, but that’s a guess . He likely would also like cat savvy kids (older than 6). Smokie is not aggressive, however he may inadvertently scratch you when you rub his belly because he has very sharp claws which need to kept trimmed. (Murder Mittens) While in foster, the neighbor's shepherd-sized dog came by and Smokie was thrilled! They "played" through the window, getting nose to nose and Smokie made lots of biscuits on the window. So we're thinking that he might be good with dogs! He does not eat wet food, but will chow down on Science Diet kibble. Smokie would be an excellent addition to a loving home. He’s fun, loving and playful, not to mention very handsome. A well-rounded cat.
