Meet MIA! ***MIA will be flying to NYC (JFK) on 3/17/26 and will be ready for a meet and greet OR can go directly to an adopter!*** Mia is ~10 lbs 8-9 months old as of March 2026! She is considered a "designer dog" in Puerto Rico (she was purchased by her current owners) and is noted to be a Chihuahua/Yorkie mix on papers but we think she actually looks very much like a Yorkie/Norfolk or Norwich Terrier mix. She is the perfect size for portability and city living! We think she's going to be popular so if you are interested, we suggest you submit an application quickly! Unfortunately, the owners are forced to give up sweet Mia because they are planning on adopting children and social services does not allow any pets of any kind in the home :( They said the dog needs to be out of the house immediately in order for the children to come and they do not want to have to euthanize her or put her on the street. The owners are sad about the situation but asked if we would take this on and find her the best home, which we will indeed! Mia is a happy-go-lucky puppy who is a typical terrier type - peppy, spunky and sweet! She loves people and she gets along with dogs well! She was even introduced to an alpha personality larger dog and she immediately rolled on her back to allow him to sniff her. She is submissive and sweet. She's a joy to be around. She loves to cuddle as you can see from the photo. While she has not been child tested with us, we think she will be great with children and probably cats too! There’s no behavior to indicate otherwise as she is sooo sweet! Like with any introduction for any animal or child, it should be structured and slow and with puppies like Mia, there are rarely any issues. After all, she's a young pup learning about the world! She is house trained, although please note that with new environments, there are likely to be accidents so please keep that in consideration! All dogs will adjust to new environments with a little time! She is spayed, fully vaccinated, 4dx (heartworm) negative and fecal (parasites) negative.
