About Kiki

🐾 Meet KiKi 🐾 KiKi is a 7-year-old Bichon weighing about 11 lbs who is beginning her journey into a very different life. KiKi came from an Amish breeding operation in central Missouri. In these environments, dogs are kept for one purpose — breeding. When they are no longer needed, they are often discarded. Thankfully, rescue groups step in to give dogs like KiKi a chance at the life they were always meant to have. Because of her past, the world of kind people and home life is new to KiKi. She will need a patient and compassionate family who understands that trust takes time. The wonderful news is that KiKi is doing very well with other dogs. Dogs are what she has always known, and at daycare she happily walks around, interacts with the other dogs, and appears relaxed and curious. She is not a shut-down dog hiding in a corner — she moves around the room and seems content in their company. People are still something she is learning about. We are working on gently picking her up and helping her build confidence with humans. Once she is in your arms, she settles nicely and remains calm — no shaking, no panicking — which tells us she has a very sweet nature underneath her uncertainty. KiKi is currently spending time with a trainer at daycare who is helping her learn that there are kind, safe people in the world. Because of her background, her ideal home will include: • At least one friendly, confident dog she can learn from • Patient, compassionate humans who will let her progress at her own pace • A calm home environment where she can continue building confidence We’ve rescued many dogs from Amish breeding operations in central Missouri. Some begin relaxing within a few weeks, while others take a couple of months — but watching them learn to trust and enjoy life is incredibly rewarding. KiKi has already taken the first steps toward a better life. Now she just needs the right family to help her continue the journey. 💛 If you think you could be the patient home KiKi deserves, please apply here: 👉 www.dayofthedogs.org/adoption-application Basics: She is a spayed female guessed to be around 7 yrs old and she weighs close to 11lbs.
