About O'titus

What exactly is in a name? O’Titus arrived on 2/2/26 as a fully intact male, estimated to be about 3 years old. He was part of a Wyoming rescue and had quite the unexpected entrance into someone’s life; he simply showed up one day while the homeowners were trying to set a trap for another injured cat that had been hanging around. They set up shelter for him in their garage, and before long he had completely charmed his way into their hearts. When he arrived, poor O’Titus was in rough shape. He had deep, bloody wounds at the base of each ear from self-trauma, caused by a severe bilateral ear infection—which is exactly how he got his name. The technical term for this condition is otitis externa. On top of that, he was dealing with a heavy flea infestation, and the combination of these issues caused his white blood cell count to climb significantly. Thankfully, treatment started helping quickly. An infusion of aural medications targeting both bacteria and yeast worked beautifully at first. At his one-month recheck, I sedated him to take a closer look at those ear canals and performed a myringotomy (ear flush). Unfortunately, the infection had progressed enough to cause perforation of both eardrums, which explained why he had been unusually subdued and had begun losing a little weight. The good news? His full lab work was otherwise normal, aside from that stubbornly elevated white blood cell count. Now that the middle ear infection (otitis media) is being addressed, we expect that number to normalize nicely. Now, about his personality… Right off the top I will mention that O’Titus is a MAJOR door darter—and he is FAST. 🚪💨 He absolutely LOVES canned food, which means he is constantly trying to sneak into the storage room in search of treasure. Because of this, he will definitely require a home with a double (or even triple) door system, along with a bit of training to help keep him safe. But aside from that little quirk? He is one of the friendliest cats you’ll ever meet. O’Titus loves nothing more than being around people. He’s a true socialite, soaking up attention wherever he can find it, and he clearly enjoys making people smile. In short, he’s a total people-pleaser—and it’s impossible not to fall for him. 💛 I AM SMITTEN! 😻 This guy is amazing. I was absolutely infatuated with him while he spent time resting and recuperating with me at FWC.
