About Seamus
Seamus was a stray who is not feral, just fearful, and would thrive in an adult-only home (or one with calm, respectful teens) with a cat-savvy adopter who understands that affection must happen on his terms. He shows signs that he enjoys gentle petting and can be receptive to human interaction, but he is not the type of cat who will actively seek out attention or enjoy being picked up. Trust is shown with slow eye blinks exchanged. He's still nervous about being picked up and will immediately run off to a safe cubby hole. Baby-steps required! Seamus needs to be accepted for who he is, without pressure for cuddling, and given the time and space to build trust at his own pace. In a quiet, stable environment, he is expected to grow in confidence and comfort, gradually revealing more of his true personality as he learns he is safe and respected.
