Hi, I’m Flint — and not too long ago, a Facebook post called me “the saddest boy in the shelter.” I was so scared back then that I would curl up in the back of my crate, trying to disappear. People would walk right past because they couldn’t really see me hiding there. Thankfully, someone did see me — and decided I deserved a chance. I was pulled from a high-kill shelter down south and brought into rescue, where my new life began. I’m a 2-year-old, 40-pound Boxer mix, and once I realized I was safe in my foster home in Adrian, Michigan, something amazing happened — I started to blossom. I’m still a sensitive soul who appreciates a calm, quiet home, but every day I’m finding my courage. My foster family has helped me learn that it’s okay to explore new rooms, play in the yard, swim in the pond and relax on the couch. These days, my favorite thing is cuddling. I’ll happily curl up with you as long as you’ll let me, soaking up every bit of love and reassurance. I don’t like yelling or chaos, but gentle voices, patience, and kindness make me feel right at home. I’ve also discovered how much I love being outside — sniffing around the yard, exploring new scents, and even splashing in the pond! I enjoy running around with my furry foster brother, and after playtime, we love curling up together for a nap. I’d do best with a calm dog companion who can help me keep building my confidence. I may be shy at first, but once I trust you, I’ll be your loyal, loving cuddle buddy for life. I’m neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. What I’m really hoping for is a patient, gentle family who will keep cheering me on as I continue growing into the happy, confident dog I’m meant to be.
