About Sarah
Adorable Sarah was transferred to us from Animal Control after being surrendered by her breeder. She is a 1-year-old Mini Aussie. Sarah did not get proper socialization in her first year of life so is very fearful of new experiences and people. She is learning how to walk on a leash, go to the bathroom outside, and enjoy life as a "typical" dog. We are looking for a very patient adopter to show this sweet girl that life isn't so scary. She has been good for handling from all of our volunteers but is very nervous. Previously, Sarah lived in a home with many other dogs, so we would love to find her a home with a confident canine friend to show her the ropes. She would not be a good for a first-time dog owner and we will not place her in a home with children under the age of 13. She is not spayed yet, but will be soon. We are accepting applications for her now. The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application here: medfieldshelter.com/adopt If a dog is listed on our website, it is still available for adoption; however, there may be applications ahead of yours. We typically receive many applications for every dog we post. All adoption meetings are by appointment. Our dog adoption fee is $450 for dogs aged seven months to seven years old, and $250 for dogs aged eight years and older. Every dog we place receives age-appropriate vaccines, is treated for worms, ticks, and fleas, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. Please fill out the adoption application if you would like to be considered for a dog in our care. With few exceptions, dogs are happiest and well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families willing to commit to both.
