About Bayou
Bayou is a gentle, shy kitten who takes his time warming up to new surroundings. He likes to keep a little distance at first, but he has a soft spot for treats—and won’t say no to hopping on your lap for snacks and quiet company. Underneath his caution is a playful personality that comes out once he starts to trust you. This black shorthaired boy spends his days romping and playing with his brothers, Creole, Cajun, Gumbo, and Mardi Gras. He’s even figured out how to hop on the cat treadmill for a quick dash here and there. Bayou does best around friendly cats and would thrive if adopted with one of his siblings or into a home with a resident cat. He’s sensitive but shows real potential to blossom in a calm, patient environment where he can set the pace. Born in foster care after his mother was brought in as a stray, Bayou’s known comfort in the company of other cats. He’s a good fit for someone willing to let him open up on his own schedule. Take the time to earn his trust, and you’ll be rewarded with a devoted, loving companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
