Cricket and Mochi came with a chapter book. These two brave girls were part of a heartbreaking surrender of 10 dogs to a tiny rural Texas shelter when their owner got admitted to a nursing home. Project Freedom Ride was honored to help ensure every single one of those dogs made it to safety. But Mochi and Cricket? They needed more than rescue — they needed miracles. After multiple surgeries, dentals, spays, and lots of TLC, these resilient little ladies are now healthy, comfortable, and ready for their next chapter — together. Always together. 💕 🐶 Mochi 6–7 years old | ~13 lbs | Wire-Haired Terrier Mix Mochi may rock the cutest “grumpy face” you’ve ever seen, but don’t let that fool you — she’s a soft-hearted, low-key cuddle bug who seeks out affection and quietly watches over her tiny best friend. When she arrived, Mochi had multiple masses along her body, including her mammary chains, neck, and vulva area. The good news? Every single lump removed was benign. Some pups are simply prone to lumps and bumps, so future ones are possible — but right now, she’s feeling great. Today? She’s healed, comfortable, and finally living pain-free. Cricket is shy at first, but once she trusts you, she melts into belly rubs and gentle affection.
