About Fergus
Fergus is an Idaho Shag mix—meaning he has lineage from Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, and Airedale Terrier. At around two years old, he’s neutered, up to date on shots, and microchipped. Originally from an out-of-state shelter where he flew under the radar due to his shy nature, Fergus spent over a month without interest from adopters, despite being a favorite among staff. Since arriving at Land of Misfits Dog Rescue in March 2026, Fergus has come out of his shell. He’s playful, energetic, smart, and healthy. He greets other dogs with enthusiasm and, after the initial meet, quickly settles into friendly play. He’s clean in his kennel every day, knows his basic commands, and maintains impressive eye contact. Fergus thrives when surrounded by people—including respectful children—and would fit right in with an active household. He’s still working on leash manners but responds well to guidance. Car rides are a success, and he enjoys socializing with both people and other dogs. Cats, however, are not recommended. All meet and greets happen at your home, limited to a 60-mile radius of St. Anthony, ID, but exceptions might be considered. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
