Hi! I'm Lil Suzi! Intake type: Transfer D.O.B.: 8/21/23 Breed: medium-sized mixed breed Gender: spayed female Weight: 29 lbs I may be a little girl, but I carry a story that’s bigger than I am. I came from a place with far more dogs than humanly possibly for 1 family to properly care for on their own. I am just 1 of over 200 dogs rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding case at a single property. Life was crowded, confusing, overwhelming, and lonely in ways no dog should ever experience. I often found myself wondering when the next meal would come. And when it did, I was lucky if I was able to sneak a few small scraps without the others trying to steal them from me because there simply wasn't enough food to go around. Life was about surviving, and I live with scars from those days. But even after all I've been through, something inside my little heart stayed hopeful. And wouldn't you know, my luck had changed! I was blessed with the opportunity to join the HAHS family, and for that, I am oh so thankful because now, I finally know what it feels like to be safe. I've been given a second chance at life, and I'm ready to find my forever family! Since being rescued, I’ve discovered so many wonderful things! Kindness, love, and zoomies around the yard are some of my favorites. I enjoy making new human friends, wiggling my way into your heart, and spending time exploring the yard. My shelter family thinks I'd really enjoy having some human kiddos or another pup to play with in my new home! As always, a meet and greet will be required if you have other pups or kiddos in the home to be sure we will be the best of friends. I have come such a long way since being rescued, but I’ll be honest though… I didn't get to see and experience much of the real world before. So there are many new sights, sounds, and things I’m still learning about. Because of that, I’m hoping my new family will help teach me how to be a brave little girl. My confidence has already grown so much, and I just know it will continue to grow each and every day with your help! I’m not asking for much, just a warm home, gentle hands, and a family who will promise to love me forever. Right now, I’m safe… but my little heart is still waiting. Waiting for the life every dog deserves. And I believe that somewhere out there, my people are waiting for me too.
